<br />ORDINANCE MO. 2010-42~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $3,244,800 IN THE FY 2009-2010 <br />GENERAL FUND IN MONIES PROVIDED BY THE FEDERAL HIGHWAY <br />ADMINISTRATION AND THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION FOR EIGHT URBAN SYSTEM HIGHWAY PROJECTS <br />TO UPGRADE TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND CONSTRUCT SAFETY RELATED <br />IMPROVEMENTS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it hereby appropriates in the FY 2009-2010 General Fund the sum of <br />$3,244,800 received from the Federal Highway Administration and the Virginia <br />Department of Transportation for eight urban system highway projects to upgrade traffic <br />signals and to construct safety related improvements at certain road intersections. <br /> <br />2. That the funds shall be used for improvements at the following <br />intersections in the following estimated amounts: Effingham StreetlHigh Street <br />($395,700), Elm Avenue/County Street ($396,400), High Street/Tyre Neck Road <br />($566,500), Victory BoulevardlElmhurst Lane ($453,800), Airline Boulevard/Greenwood <br />Drive/Hodges Ferry Road ($581,400), George Washington HighwayNictory Boulevard <br />($400,600), George Washington Highway/Elm Avenue ($206,400) and High <br />Street/Cedar Lane ($244,000). <br /> <br />3. That no local match is required to obtain the funds. <br /> <br />4. That estimated revenues in the FY 2009-2010 General Fund are increased <br />by $3,244,800. <br /> <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on May 25,2010. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
