<br />OROJHANCE It 2 0 ~ii~.. <br /> <br />ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 16 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (2006) BY AMENDING <br />SECTIONS 16-64 AND 16-66(b) THEREOF AND BY AMENDING APPENDIX A <br />OF THE CODE TO INCREASE MONTHLY RATES FOR TRASH AND <br />GARBAGE DISPOSAL. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1, That Sections 16-64 and 16-66(b) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia (2006) be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 16-64. Monthly rates for collection and disposal of trash and garbage; <br />generally. <br /> <br />The service charge for the collection and disposal of trash and garbage shall be as <br />set out in Appendix A to this Code and any subsequent amendments thereto. The charges <br />imposed under this section shall be billed with the statement rendered for water and <br />sewer charges. <br /> <br />Sec. 16-66. Rates for automated containers in the downtown commercial business <br />district. <br /> <br />(b) Where garbage and refuse are stored in automated lOS-gallon refuse <br />containers in the downtown commercial business district, the monthly rate charged for <br />service shall be as set out in Appendix A to this Code and any subsequent amendments <br />thereto, <br /> <br />2. That certain fees for the collection and disposal of trash and garbage set <br />out in Appendix A of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) be amended <br />and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />CHAPTER 16.
