<br />h. Master Police Officers or Master Fire Fit!hters <br /> <br />Sworn personnel in the classifications of Police Officer and Fire <br />Fighter may receive a special allowance as Master Police Officers or <br />Master Fire Fighters. This shall consist of a $1,500 flat rate <br />allowance for the duration of the period that the sworn person retains <br />the "Master" designation. <br /> <br />NOTE: This allowance will be considered creditable compensation <br />for purposes of computing retirement. <br /> <br />i. Education Allowance <br /> <br />Sworn personnel in the classifications of Police Officer, Police <br />Officer Trainee, Police Sergeant, Police Lieutenant, Police Captain, <br />Fire Fighter, Fire Fighter Trainee, Fire Fighter/Paramedic, Fire <br />Fighter/Paramedic Trainee, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Lieutenant/ <br />Paramedic, Fire Captain and Fire Battalion Chief will receive an <br />Education Allowance in the amount of $500 per year for attainment <br />of an Associate's degree or $1,000 annually for attainment of a <br />Bachelor's degree. <br /> <br />*NOTE: This allowance will be considered creditable compensation <br />for purposes of computing retirement. <br /> <br />j. Self-Contained Breathint! Apparatus <br /> <br />Sworn personnel in classifications of Fire Fighter, Fire <br />Fighter/Paramedic, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Lieutenant/Paramedic, and <br />Fire Captain, who are certified in the repair and maintenance of self- <br />contained breathing apparatus and are designated by the Fire Chief <br />shall receive an allowance of $900 annually. This designation is <br />limited to six persons. <br /> <br />12 <br />
