<br />ORDINANCE NO. 2007-50 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 31.1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (2006), BY AMENDING SECTION 31.1-51 (a) THEREOF <br />PERTAINING TO STORMWATER UTILITY FEES. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That Section 31.l-51(a) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) be <br />amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 31.1-51. StorIDwater utility fees. <br /> <br />(a) The following stormwater utility fees are hereby authorized for all utility customers in <br />the city. Rates will be based upon equivalent residential units (ERU). An ERU will be the equivalent <br />of 1,877 square feet of impervious area which will include all buildings, structures and other <br />impervious and semi-pervious surfaces which contribute to stormwater runoff. The minimum monthly <br />charge shall be equal to one ERU. The number ofERU's will be determined by the director of public <br />works or his designee. <br /> <br />Residential accounts <br />Nonresidential accounts <br /> <br />1 ERU x $5.50 <br />Actual number ofERU's x $5.50 <br /> <br />') That this ordinance shall take effect on July 1, 2007 and shall be applicable to all bills <br />rendered after July 1,2007. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on April 24, <br /> <br />2007. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
