<br />ORDHIAIEE 10.2007-76__ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $553,667 <br />FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES <br />AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2007-2008 GRANTS FUND <br />FOR USE BY THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE TO PROVIDE SUPERVISION OF NON- <br />VIOLENT OFFENDERS AND DEFENDANTS IN THE COMMUNITY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />I. That the City of Portsmouth accepts a grant in the amount of <br />$553,667 from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and <br />appropriates said amount in the FY 2007-2008 Grants Fund for use by the <br />Sheriffs Office to provide supervision of non-violent offenders and defendants <br />in the community. <br /> <br />2. That the City's estimated revenue in the FY 2007-2008 Grants <br />Fund is increased by $553,667. <br /> <br />3. That this ordinance shaH take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a <br />meeting held on July 24,2007. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
