<br />ORottWU 1Ji2~. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF CAVALIER BOULEVARD TO PRIVATE <br />VEHICULAR TRAFFIC TO PROVIDE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE <br />PORTSMOUTH PUBLIC TRANSFER AND TRANSPORTATION CENTER WITHIN <br />THE PORTION OF CAVALIER BOULEVARD SO CLOSED. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Transportation District Commission of Hampton Roads and the City of <br />Portsmouth are desirous of developing a Public Transfer and Transportation Center along the <br />northerly portion of Cavalier Boulevard as it lies between the right of way of McLean Street and <br />the right of way of the Victory Boulevard on ramp onto 1-264, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to implement such development it is necessary to close a portion of <br />Cavalier Boulevard between the right of way of McLean Street and right of way of the Victory <br />Boulevard on ramp onto 1-264 to private vehicular traffic, so as to provide an area for the center. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia that a portion of Cavalier Boulevard be and is hereby closed to private vehicular traffic <br />from its intersection on the east with the right of way of McLean Street to a point bounded on the <br />west by the right of way of the Victory Boulevard on ramp onto 1-264, SAVE AND EXCEPT <br />that the eastbound lane of Cavalier Boulevard from Victory Boulevard to McLean Street shall <br />remain open to private vehicular traffic. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the portion of Cavalier Boulevard hereby closed to <br />private vehicular traffic shall be open to use by the Transportation District Commission of <br />Hampton Roads and its agents and assigns as may be necessary and appropriate to provide for <br />the full and efficient operation of a Public Transfer and Transportation Center. <br /> <br />ADOPTED at a meeting of the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia held on June <br />26,2007. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
