<br />R-06-27 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE CITY'S CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER <br />AS THE CITY'S AUTHORIZED AGENT FOR FEDERAL DISASTER RELIEF <br />PURPOSES. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, both State and Federal laws require that public entities authorize an <br />agent to provide assurances, agreements, and data for all matters pertaining to federal <br />disaster relief: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the past the City designated the Deputy City Manager for Finance <br />as the City's authorized agent for federal disaster relief purposes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City position of Deputy City Manager for Finance has been <br />eliminated, and the responsibilities of that former position have been allocated to the <br />position of the Chief Financial Officer; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to eliminate any confusion and delay in obtaining federal <br />disaster relief in the future, it is necessary to designate the Chief Financial Officer as the <br />City's authorized agent for federal disaster relief purposes, <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia that the City's Chief Financial Officer be, and hereby is, designated <br />as the City's authllrized agent for federal disaster relief purposes with the authority to <br />provide assurances. agreements, and data for all matters pertaining to federal disaster <br />relief <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on May 23, 2006, <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
