<br />revive any ordinance or part thereof that has been repealed prior to the effective date of this <br /> <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 4. <br /> <br />(a) Unless another penalty is expressly provided, every person convicted of a <br /> <br />violation of any provision of the Code or any ordinance, rule or regulation adopted or issued in <br /> <br />pursuance thereof shall be punished as provided in Code section I-II. <br /> <br />(b) Whenever in any provision of this Code or in any other ordinance of the city any <br /> <br />act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or an of Tense or misdemeanor, or the <br /> <br />doing of any act is required, or the failure to do any act is declared to be unlawful or an offense or <br /> <br />a misdemeanor, where no specific penalty is provided for the violation of such provision and <br /> <br />such violation is not described as being of a particular class of misdemeanor, such violation shall <br /> <br />be punishable upon conviction by confinement in jail for not more than twelve months and a fine <br /> <br />of not more than $2,500.00, either or both. <br /> <br />(c) Notwithstanding any other provision of this section or any other section of this <br /> <br />Code. no penalty shall be imposed for a violation ofthis Code or other ordinance of the city <br /> <br />which is greater than the penalty prescribed by the general law of the Commonwealth for a like <br /> <br />offense. <br /> <br />(d) Each day any violation of this Code or any other ordinance. rule or regulation of <br /> <br />the city shall continue shall constitute a separate offense, except where otherwise provided. <br /> <br />(e) The penalty provided by this section, unless another penalty is expressly provided, <br /> <br />shall apply to the amendment of any Code section, whether or not such penalty is reenacted in the <br /> <br />amendatory ordinance.
