<br />UlDItWG HO~ 6...5 3 ~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $112,234 <br />FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND <br />APPROPRIATING THE SAME AMOUNT IN THE FY 2006-2007 GRANTS <br />FUND FOR THE DRUG COURT PROGRAM AND FOR POLICE <br />TECHNOLOGY, EQUIPMENT, AND CRIME PREVENTION INITIATIVES. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it accepts a grant from the United States Department of Justice in the <br />amount of $112,234 for the Drug Court Program and for use by the Portsmouth Police <br />Department for technology, equipment and crime prevention initiatives. <br /> <br />2. That the sum of $112,234 is hereby appropriated in the FY 2006-2007 <br />Grants Fund. <br /> <br />3. That estimated revenues in the FY 2006-2007 Grants Fund are increased <br />by $112,234. <br /> <br />4. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on June 27, 2006. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
