Mopeds, motorized push scooters; passengers. <br /> <br />No moped or motorized push scooter shall be used to carry more persons at one <br />time other than the number of persons for which it was designed or equipped. A <br />violation of this section shall constitute a traffic infraction punishable by a fine not to <br />exceed $250. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-328.1. Mopeds, motorized push scooters; use of handlebars; earphones. <br /> <br />No person shall ride a moped or motorized push scooter upon any street without <br />having at least one hand upon the handlebars. No person shall ride a moped or motorized <br />push scooter upon any street while wearing earphones one or in both ears. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-400.1 Mopeds, motorized push scooters; operation on certain streets and <br />highways; prohibited. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(a) Mopeds shall not be operated on any street or highway with a speed limit <br />in excess of 30 miles per hour; however, the operator may cross a street or highway <br />having a speed limit in excess of 30 miles per hour if the crossing is signalized and <br />begins and ends on a street with a speed limit of30 miles per hour. The operator may <br />walk such moped through any intersection. <br /> <br />(b) Motorized push scooters shall not be operated on any street or highway <br />with a speed limit in excess of25 miles per hour; however, the operator may cross a <br />street or highway with a speed limit in excess of 25 miles per hour if the crossing is <br />signalized and begins and ends on a street with a speed limit of 25 miles per hour The <br />operator may walk such scooter through any intersection. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-708.1. Mopeds, motorized push scooters; age of operators. <br /> <br />No person under the age of 16 shall ride a moped or motorized push scooter on <br />any street within the city. A violation of this subsection shall constitute a traffic infraction <br />punishable by a fine of no more than $50.00. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-708.2. Motorized push scooters to be operated during daylight. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />No person shall operate a motorized "push scooter" as defined in section 22-1 on <br />any highways, city streets or public property between sundown and sunrise.
