<br />ORDINANCE 110.2005-97__ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY ADOPTING NEW SECTIONS 30-121.1 <br />AND 30-241.1 PERTAINING TO HEALTH INSURANCE RATES FOR CERTAIN <br />SERVICE CONNECTED DISABILITY RETIREES IN THE CITY <br />RETIREMENT SYSTEMS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia; <br /> <br />1. That Chapter 30 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be <br />amended by the adoption of new sections 30-121.1 and 30-141.1 to read as follows: <br /> <br />ARTICLE II. PORTSMOUTH SUPPLEMENTAL RETIREMENT SYSTEM <br /> <br />Sec. 30-121.1 Reduction of health insurance rates for certain members after service- <br />connected disability retirement. <br /> <br />The annual health insurance rates of any member receiving a service-connected <br />disability retirement allowance may be reduced to the rate paid by active employees, <br />provided that: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />the member's service-connected disability retirement allowance is less <br />than $20,000; and <br />the member is enrolled in a city-provided health insurance plan. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />ARTICLE III. PORTSMOUTH FIRE AND POLICE RETIREMENT SYSTEM <br /> <br />Sec. 30-241.1 Reduction of health insurance rates for certain members after service- <br />connected disability retirement. <br /> <br />The annual health insurance rates of any member receiving a service-connected <br />disability retirement allowance may be reduced to the rate paid by active employees, <br />provided that: <br /> <br />1. the member's service-connected disability retirement allowance is less <br />than $20,000; and <br />11. the member is enrolled in a city-provided health insurance plan. <br /> <br />2. That this ordinance shall take effect on January 1,2006. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />
