<br />OROlNAHCE NO.2Q05-87~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE GRANT IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $225,000 AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE <br />GRANTS FUND FOR THE WEED AND SEED PROGRAM TO PREVENT AND <br />REDUCE ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES IN DESIGNATED HIGH-CRIME <br />NEIGHBORHOODS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That the City of Portsmouth hereby accepts a grant from the U.S. <br />Department of Justice in the amount of $225,000 and appropriates said amount in the <br />Grants Fund for use by the Portsmouth Police Department in preventing, controlling, and <br />reducing violent crime, drug abuse and gang related activity in designated high crime <br />neighborhoods <br /> <br />2. <br />$225,000. <br /> <br />That estimated revenue in the FY 2005-2006 Grants Fund is increased by <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held <br />on November 8,2005. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />
