<br />. <br /> <br />compliance with all applicable statutes, laws, regulations, codes and ordinances of the <br />City, the Commonwealth of Virginia (including without limitation the State Board for <br />Barbers and Cosmetology), and applicable federal agencies (including without limitation <br />the Center for Disease Control). <br /> <br />(3) Training and vaccination requirements. All permit holders shall be required to <br />complete annual health education training in bloodborne pathogens, universal <br />precautions, sterilization, aseptic techniques, first aid, and CPR. Training shall be as <br />approved by the Health Director. Permit holders shall also provide documentation of <br />hepatitis B vaccination (or laboratory evidence of immunity) and annual TB screening. <br /> <br />(4) Floors, walls, and ceilings. All walls, ceilings and floors shall be a light color, <br />maintained in a condition free of dirt, body fluids or any hazardous material and shall be <br />smooth and easily cleaned. The floors shall not be carpeted, and neither rugs nor fabrics <br />of any kind shall be placed on the floors. Walls and ceilings shall be painted a light color <br />and maintained in a condition free of dirt, body fluids, or any hazardous waste. Ceilings <br />shall be kept clean and free from dust and debris. Walls, ceilings or floors shall not be <br />generally swept or cleaned while tattooing is occurring, except that individual and visible <br />unsanitary debris items or conditions are to be corrected at the earliest practicable <br />opportunity . <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(5) Work station requirements. Multiple body art booths shall be separated by walls or <br />wall-like partitions, and each body artist shall have an assigned work area. Booths shall <br />not be shared during work shifts. There shall be sufficient work and counter space to <br />maintain sterile fields and to separate dirty and contaminated materials from sanitized <br />tools, instruments, and materials. Sharps containers and foot-operated waste receptacles <br />shall be located in every booth and in the sterilization room. Sterilization shall occur in <br />an area adequately separated from booths, patrons, and the public. <br /> <br />(6) Animals, insects, vermin. and rodents. No animals shall be allowed, except for guide <br />or service animals accompanying persons with disabilities; except that non-mammalian <br />animals in enclosed glass containers, such as aquariums will be allowed in waiting areas <br />and administrative offices. Effective measures for prevention and control of insects, <br />vermin, and rodents shall be taken, including without limitation screened openings and <br />automatic door closures. <br /> <br />(7) Light, ventilation and dust. Adequate light, ventilation, and dust control shall be <br />provided. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(8) Toilet and hand-washing facilities. There shall be adequate toilet and hand-washing <br />facilities with germicidal soap and hot and cold running water, connected to public water <br />under pressure. Hand-washing facilities shall also be equipped with single-use towels or <br />mechanical hand-drying devices. Every booth shall have a sink, preferably with foot <br />
