c. New Employees <br /> <br /> All newly hired employees will be considered probationary for the <br /> first 12 months of employment. <br /> <br /> Employees should be hired at the minimum range of the pay grade <br /> classification. Requests to hire above the minimum will be evaluated <br /> on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the Human Resource <br /> Management Department. <br /> <br />d. Promotions - General Employees <br /> <br /> When an employee is promoted to a classification one grade higher <br /> than the present classification, the employee will receive an increase <br /> of 5% of the current salary. If the promotion is two or more grades <br /> above the former classification, the employee will receive an increase <br /> of 10% of the former salary. An employee's base salary, may not be <br /> less than the minimum nor more than the maximum for the grade to <br /> which promoted. Special circumstances may be reviewed with <br /> Human Resource Management and adjusted by the City Manager as is <br /> deemed necessary for business operations. <br /> <br />e.
