(11) <br /> <br />(12) <br /> <br />(13) <br /> <br />(14) <br /> <br />(15) <br /> <br />Disturbed areas for residential, commercial or noncommercial use§ of less <br />than two thousand five hundred (2,500) square feet in size; <br /> <br />Installation of fence, billboard and sign posts or telephone and electric <br />poles and other kinds of posts or poles; <br /> <br />Emergency work to protect life, limb or property, and emergency repairs: <br />provided that if the land-disturbing activity would have required an <br />approved erosion and sediment control plan if the activity were not an <br />emergency, then the land area disturbed shall be shaped and stabilized in <br />accordance with the requirement of the plan-approwng authority; <br /> <br />Engineering operations on privately owned, occupied or operated <br />agricultural, horticultural or forest lands such as the construction of <br />terraces, terrace outlets, check dams, desilting basins, floodwater retarding <br />structures, channel improvements, floodways, dikes, ponds, ditches, and <br />the like; the utilization of strip cropping, lister furrowing, contour <br />cultivating, contour furrowing, land drainage, land irrigation, seeding and <br />planting of waste, sloping, abandoned or eroded lands to water-conserving <br />and erosion-preventing plants, trees and grasses, forestation and <br />reforestation, rotation of crops, soil stabilization with trees, grasses, <br />legumes, and other thick-growing, soil-holding crops; retardation of runoff <br />by increasing absorption of rainfall and retirement from cultivation of <br />steep, highly erosive areas and areas now badly gullied or otherwise <br />eroded; <br /> <br />Shore erosion and control projects on tidal waters recommended by soil <br />and water conservation districts in which the projects are located or <br />approved by the manne resources commission. <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 11-10 (c)(1) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />(1988) be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 11-10, Permit required for land-disturbing activities. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />There shall be a charge for the cost of processing and issuing a land- <br />disturbing permit to be collected from the applicant as follows: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />Development Of an individual single-family lot involving over two <br />thousand five hundred (2,500) square feet of land <br />disturbance... $50.00 <br /> <br />3. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
