AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 19 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (!988) BY AMENDING SECTION 19-150 <br />THEREOF PERTAINING TO MUSEUM FEES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 19-150'of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />(1988) be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 19-150. Museum admission fees. <br /> <br /> The following dally fees shall be charged for admission to city museums: <br /> <br /> (a) Children's Museum of Virginia: <br /> 1. Regular admission... $6.00 <br /> 2. Student admission (Portsmouth Public School group, with <br /> supervising adult)... None <br /> 3. One (1) supervising adult per group of eight (8) students in <br /> subsection (a)2. above... None <br /> 4. Other private and public school groups, per child, with supervising <br /> adult.. 4.00 General admission (Self-guided) <br /> 4.50 General admission plus planetarium show <br /> 5.00 Standards of Learning-based program <br /> 5.50 Standards of Learning-based program and <br /> One (1) supervising adult per group of eight (8) <br /> students in subsection (a)4. above... None <br /> <br /> (b) Other museums per person.. <br /> 1. Courthouse Galleries ................................. $3.00 <br /> 2. Naval Shipyard Museum/Lightship Museum ....... 3.00 <br /> <br /> (c) Keypass Discount Program. Upon payment of a fee of $9.00, a person <br /> shall be entitled to admittance to all city museums during normal working <br /> hours for ninety days from the date of issuance. <br /> <br /> (d) Members of the Portsmouth Museums and/or the Friends of the Naval <br /> Shipyard Museum shall, upon providing proof of active membership, be <br /> entitled to admission without charge to any city museum. An individual <br /> membership shall entitle the individual member to admission without <br /> charge. A family membership shall entitle members of the immediate <br /> family to admission without charge. <br /> <br /> (e) The city manager or his designee is authorized to establish such waivers of <br /> admission fees as deemed appropriate, provided that the conditions or <br /> grounds for such waivers are specified in writing. <br /> <br /> <br />
