AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 16 OF THE CODE OF THE CITYOF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY AMENDING SECTION 16-67 THEREOF <br />PERTAINING TO FEES FOR CITY DISPOSAL OF ANIMALS. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 16-67 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) <br />be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 16-67. Rates for disposal of small dead animals. <br /> <br /> Whenever small dead animals are to be disposed of by the city from business or <br />commercial establishments, or from persons other than residents of the city, a fee of <br />$30.00 per animal delivered to the animal crematory or collected by the city, shall be <br />charged. Such small dead animals shall be placed in a properly sealed plastic or <br />polyethylene refuse bag or other suitable container. <br /> <br /> 2. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held <br />on July 9, 2002. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br /> <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
