AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 22 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH. VIRGINIA (1988) BY AMENDING SECTIONS 22-536, 22-601, <br />22-613. 22-631. 22-643, 22-661, AND 22-662 THEREOF PERTAINING TO MALL <br />AND MALL TRANSIT STREETS AND TO METERED AND UNMETERED <br />STREETS, PARKING GARAGES. AND LOTS. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Sections 22-536, 22-601, 22-613, 22-631, 22-643, 22-661, and 22- <br />662 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth. Virginia (1988) be amended and reordained to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 22-536. Established. <br /> <br /> For the purpose of regulating traffic pursuant to the police power of the city and <br />to ensure the safety of pedestrian traffic, the following streets are hereby designated mall <br />and mall transit streets, subject to the provisions of this article: <br /> <br />MALL AND LIMITED-ACCESS STREETS <br /> (1) Middle Street between High Street and King Street. <br /> (2) King Street for a distance of three hundred fifty-five (355) feet east of the <br /> centerline of Middle Street Mall and two hundred thirty (230) feet west of <br /> said centerline. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-601. Designation of zones. <br /> <br /> The following described parts of streets in the city are hereby designated as <br />parking meter zones: <br /> <br />County Street both sides, from Crawford Street to Court Street. <br />Court Street, east side, from High Street to King Street. <br />Court Street, both sides, from King Street to County Street. <br />Crawford Street, both sides, from High Street to London Street. <br />Crawford Street, both sides, from King Street to Columbia Street. <br />Harbor Street, west side, from Water Street to Harbor Court. <br />King Street, north side, between Middle Street Mall and Washington Street. <br />London Street, south side, from Crawford Street to Court Street. <br />London Street, both sides, from Crawford Street to Water Street. <br />Queen Street, south side, from Court Street to Crawford Street. <br />Washington Street, both sides, from High Street to County Street. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-613. Hours, days provisions apply. <br /> <br /> The provisions of this division shall apply to parking only between the hours of <br />8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and on days other than Saturdays and Sundays; legal holidays as <br /> <br /> <br />
