AI~ ORDLNA~CE TO I~PFAL :9ECT!Ck~S 8-78, 8-79, 8~80, 8-81~ 8-8~:, 8-83, 8-84, 8-85, 8-86, 8-87, 8-88, 8-89~ and 8-90, OF TFfE CODE 01~ Th~ CITY OF PORTSIff0O"I~, 1951, RELATING TO ASSESSMENT OF REkL ESTATE, PROVIDING FOR AN ~NI~q~L ASSESS- ~ OF REAL ESTATE, T~LE APPOINTI~E~T OF A SINGLE ASSESSOR, ~IS DUTIES, ETC. ~ERFAS, o~ the 22nd day of April, 1958, there was presented to this Council a petition for referendum, in accordance with Chapter X of the ~arter of the City of Portsmouth, proposing the repeal of an ordinance adopted on October 23, 1958, adding Sections 8-78 through 8-90, lnclusive~ to the Code of the City of Portsmouth, 1951; and ?~R"~_~R.FAS, the question of the ~epeal of the aforesaid ordinance was put to the voters in a referendum on June 10, 1958, wherein a majority of the votes cast were for rel~ezl of $Yae aforesaid o~diDance; NO~ ~11~EFO~E~ ~E IT ORDAINED hy the Council of the City of Ports- mouth, Virgin~, t~t the o~dinance adopted on October 9-3, 1958, as amended, ccnsistin~ of Sections 8-78 through 8-90, inclusive, of the Cede of the City Of P~rtsmeuth, 1981, he and the same hereby is re~.aled and Of ne force and effect from and after June !1, 19~8; Provided~ that all lawful acts done in c~m~lima~ce with the aferesaid ordina~%ce prior to June ll, 1958, or with respect t~ the ~ax y~ar commencing January 1, 1958 and ending December 31, 1988, are not and shall not be affected by repeal of the aforesaid ordina~ceo Adopted by the Council of the City of meeting hel~ on J~{y~Stk, 1958~ City Clerk
