AN ORDINANCE TO A~END SECTION 6-20 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1951, TO PROVIDE FOR PERFORbL~NCE OF CERTAIN <br />~ORK IN CITY CEMETERIES %~NDER CONTRACT. <br /> <br /> Be ii ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that <br />Section 6-20 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1951, be amended <br />and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 6-~0o Who shall do work° <br /> <br /> It shall be the duty of the person in charge of any cemetery to super- <br />vise the opening of all graves and the doing of any work for which a fee is <br />paid pursuan~ to the preceding section. Such work shall be done by city <br />employees except at such times as the city council may provide for the per- <br />formance thereof Under contract~ <br /> <br /> This ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public <br />health, morals, and safety, an emergency is declared to exist and it shall <br />take effect from its passage° <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia~ at a meeting <br />held on November 8, 1960, <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
