AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 23-7 THROUGH 23-25 OF TH_E CODE OF THE CITY OF PORT~OUTH, VIRGINIA, 1951, AS A~V~NDED, TO PROVIDE FOR LEASING OF T~HE PORTSMOUTH STADIUM FOR USE BY PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL UNDER F~A_NCHISE, REDUCING CF~RGES FOR USE THEREOF BY WOODROW WILSON HIGH SCHOOL, PROVIDING GENERALLY FOR OTHER USES AND MA~NAGEMENT THEREOF, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF. Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: Section 1. That Sections 23-7 through 23-25 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1951, as amended, be amended and reordained to read as follows: Article III. Portsmouth Stadium, Section 23-7. Lease of Stadium for Use by Professional Baseball under Franchise, The Council may provide for leasing of the Portsmouth Stadium for use by professional baseball under franchise from time To time° During the ~erm of any Such lease a~ such times as the lessee shall have exclusive r~gh~ to the use of the stadium, such of the remaining sections of this article as are inconsistent with the provisions of such lease shall not be operative, but a~ all other times and with respect ~o all other users of the stadium such re- maining provisions shall be in fuI1 ~,orce and effect.
