from day to day as collected° They shall give bond for the faithful performance <br />of the duties of their office in such form and with such security as nmy be <br />required by ordinance° <br /> <br /> Section 16ol-9. Substitute Judge of the Municipal Court; Appointment and Duties. <br /> The Judge of the Court of ~ustings shall, by proper order of record, <br /> <br />appoint as Substitute Judge of the Municipal Court a suitable person with like <br />qualifications as the Judge of the Municipal Court, and may at any time revoke <br />such appointment, and may make a new appointment in like manner mn the event <br />of such revocation, or of the death, absence or disability of such Substitute <br />Judge. In the event of the inability of the Judge of the $Iunicipal Court to <br />perform the duties of his office by reason of sickness, absence, vacation, in- <br />· eres~ in the claim, proceeding or parties before his court, or otherwise, such <br />Substitute Judge shall perform the duties of his office during such absence or <br />disability, and shall receive for his services a per diem compensation at the <br />rate received by the Judge of the Municipal Court and the Council shall determine <br />whether such compensation shall be deducted from the salary of the Judge of the <br />Municipal Court~ An attorney appointed as Substitute Judge may continue to <br />practice law, <br /> <br /> Article IIio Juvenile and Domestic gelations Court, <br /> <br />Section 16.1-10o Appointment and term of Judge. <br /> <br /> The Judge of the Court of Hustings shall, by proper order of record, <br />appoint the Judge of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court of the City of <br />Portsmouth~ The first such appointment shall be effective not earlier than <br />July 1~ 1960, and shall expire on the ~ast day of August, 196~. Thereafter, <br />such appointments shall be made durin~ the month of July, 196~, and every four <br />years thereafter for a term of four years beginning on the first day of September <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br /> <br />
