Section 9. Overtime° <br /> <br /> . '?~Any employee whose rate ~f pay is fixed on a monthly basis <br /> shall not receive any compensation for extra or overtime work, excep~ in <br /> cases of emergency. Any extra compensation allowed by a Department Head <br /> must be in advance of the performance of the work and with the spproval of <br /> the City Manager; the same to he entered by the Department Head on the next <br /> <br /> succeeding pay roll submitted to the City Auditor. <br /> Section 10. ~alary Adjustments. <br /> <br /> ~atary adjustments to higher steps within a pay range shall <br /> <br />be effective upon the first day of the month following the anniversary date <br />of employment in tha~ range, except that advancement to steps "E" and <br />shall be effective the first day of the month following completion of 10 and <br /> <br />20 years, respectively, employment with the city. <br /> Section ll. Allowances. <br /> <br /> The rates of pay set forth in the schedule shall be deemed to <br />include the full compensation of the employee, and the value of any allowances <br />made to the employee by the City shall be considered as part of his compensa- <br />tiono <br /> <br /> Section 12.
