(b) Repair or Replacement of Existing Water Service Connections. Whenever any existin~ w~ter service connection which yeas in- stalled prior to July l, 1962, requires maintenance, repairs, replacement or enlargement between the water main and the meter, such work shall be done by the Water Department and the ova%er thereof shall be required to make the pay- ment or deposit specified in par~Er~ph (a) hereof, as if the installation of a new water service connection was bein~ made; progided, however, if the water flow at the meter is 5 Eallc~s per minute or more per each dwellin~ unit served, or the water service line between the ms,er and the fixtures in the buildin~ is not cap~ble of the same flow, such work shall be paid for by the owner at cost to the Water Departmenl plus l0 per cent. Any such water ser- vice connection shall be owned and thereafter maintained by the Water Depart- merit. (c) Repair of ~oad Damage Between Water Nain and 5{eter. Whenever an existinE w~ter service line is damaged because of vehicular t~ffic on the road above the same, or cavin~ in of the roadway, between the water main and the meter, it shall be the responsibility of the Water Department to repair such damage and replace such lines as the situa- tion requires. (d) Naintenance of Other Water Service Connections. Except as provided in subsection (c) above, any water service line or segment thereof for which the payment or deposit herein specified shall nothave been paid shall be owned and maintained by the owner or tenant of the premises served thereby. Failure to m~intain any such service line zn accordance with the standards of the Water Department shall be cause for discontinuinE service. Section 2.
