.AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTI(~ 50 OF ARTICLE II OF ¥ttE LICENSE <br />TAX ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, 1960, TO IMPOSE A <br />LICENSE TAX ON Ttl~ AGENTS AND ATTORNeYS-IN-FACT OF PROFESSIONAL <br />BONDSM~N, <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth <br />-Virginia, that 'Section S0 of Article II Of the License Tax <br /> Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1960,'be amended and re- <br /> ordained to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section S0~ Bondsmen-Professional: <br /> <br /> Every person who shall, for compensation~ become ~r <br /> furnish surety for any person or persons Charged with a felony <br />~ %, "or misdemeanor, or with violation of any city ordinance or 0rdi~' <br /> ~ nances or Stat~ law, shall pay a license tax of $300d00 per <br /> ' annum. Such lzcense shall not be transferable or ~"rorated. ' <br /> <br /> Every person who shall act as agent or attorney-xn-fact <br /> : for any person who shall, for compensation,.become or furnish <br /> ty for any person or persons charged'with a felony or <br /> misdemeanor or with violation'of any city ordinance or ordinances. <br /> ~or State law, shall pay a license tax of $$00.00 per annum. Such' <br /> license shall not be transferable or prorated° <br /> <br /> Provided; that nothing in fhis section shall be construed <br /> to cbnflict with regulatory laws and ordinances governing conduct, <br />'~": practice or-fees of Professional Bondsmen.
