AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF PORTSMObTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, BY <br />ADDING THERETO A NE?I SECTION NuMBERED <br />19-3S.1, MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO LOITER <br />IN OR NEAR THE PR~MISES OF SCHOOLS, AND <br />PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of ' <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1961, be amended by adding <br />thereto a new section numbered 19-35.1, to read ~,~ <br />as.follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 19-~B,1, Loitering in or near schools <br /> <br />No person shall loiter in or near the <br />-premises of public schools or othe~ schools for <br /> the purpose of molesting, interfering with or <br /> Ming any pupil~ teacher, or school official. <br /> Any person who, without proper reason rom <br /> present on the premises of any public <br /> school or other school, upon being requested bM <br /> any person in charge thereof or by a police officer <br /> to leave such premisesj fails to remove himself <br /> forthwith, shal'l also be guilty of violating section <br /> 19-70~ and shall be punished as therein provided~ <br /> <br /> This ordinance being necessary for the <br />preservation of the public health, morals and <br />safety, an emergency is declared to exist and <br />it shall take effect from and after its passage, <br /> <br />Adopted by. the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br /> .t a meeting held October 23, 1962~ <br /> <br /> :i Teste: . - . <br /> <br /> <br />
