Section' 15.1-4. Statements and information to <br /> <br /> The public library board shall furnish the city <br />manager, whenever requested by him, a detailed <br />s~atement of the amount of money deemed necessary by <br />the boa~d for the operation of the Portsmouth Public <br />Library~or any specified time, and also such other <br />information as may be desired with respect to the <br />operation and management Of such library. Expenditure of funds no% budgeted. <br /> <br /> The board shall have the power to accept, <br />administer and expend for operating expenses funds <br />received as gifts, including gifts in trust. <br /> <br />9-27-61, ~ 5.} <br /> <br /> Should the public library board receive and <br /> expend for operating expenses any funds not included <br />· in its budget as approved by the city council, the <br /> city council may direct that the amount appropriated <br /> ' from city funds be reduced by the amount so expended <br /> from sources outside said budget. (Ordinance No, 1961-10, <br /> <br />Section 1S~1-6. <br /> <br />Acquisition of assets of existing <br />libraries. <br /> <br /> Upon the availability of the facility at Court <br />and King Streets for use as a public library, the <br />city manager is hdreby authorized and directed to <br />accept proper conveyances to the city of the assets <br />of the present Portsmouth Public Library and the <br />Portsmouth Community Library. Upon transfer of <br />such assets, the appropriations in the current budget <br />for the said'libraries shall be transferred and <br />applied to the operation of the'library system <br />to be Operated by the board hereby created.
