Section 7o Reinstated Firemen and Policemen~ <br /> <br /> Any Firem~u or Policeman who is reinstated within one year after he has <br />left the employment of the City shall receive compensation according to the class <br />in which he is placed nom to exceed however~ the rate of pay he would receive had <br />he not left the employment of the City, <br /> <br /> Section $o Overtime° <br /> <br /> Firemen and Policemen whose rate of pay is fixed on a monthly basis shall <br />not receive any compensation for extra or overtime work, except in cases of emerEencyo <br />kny extra compensation allowed must be approved in advance of the performance of the <br />work by the Chief of each department with the approval of the City Manager and wet <br />be entered by the Chief on the uext succeeding payroll submitted to the City Auditor~ <br /> <br /> Section 9o Salary Adjustments° <br /> <br /> Salary adjustments shall become, effective on the first day of the month <br />following the anniversary date of emp~oyment~ <br /> <br /> Section lO~ Complement° <br /> <br /> (a) ~ne authorized complemeMt of the Fire Department shall be one Chief~ <br />s~x Assistant Chiefs, twenty-seven Ca~tains~ twenty-seven Engineers~ and one hundred <br />~wen~y-nine Hosemeno <br /> <br /> (b) The authorized complement of the Police Department shall be one Chief~ <br />ten Captains~ twelve ~leutenants~ twenty-one Sergeants~ and one hundred forty-four <br />Patrolmen-Detectives, <br /> <br /> This Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public health~ <br />morals and safety~ an emergency is declared ~o exist~ and it shall take effect from <br />and after its passage° <br /> <br /> kdopted at a meeting of the Council of the City of Portsmouth on <br />June 25, 1963. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
