AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIO,%S60 AND 61 OF ARTICLE II <br />OF THE LICENSE TAX ORDINANCE OF ~E CI~ OF PORTSMO~tt, <br />1960, IMPOSING A LICENSE TAX ON NON-L~AL PERSONS ENGAGED <br />IN ~t~ CLE~ING~ PRESSING~ DYEING ~D ~DRY B~INBSS, SO <br />AS TO E~MPT SU~ PEP~ON FROM SUOt LICBNS~-TAX ~}IB~ TH~ <br />-8~E PRIVIL~G~ IS E~'ENDBD BY A~OINING CITIES TO PO~SMO~I <br /> D IN SUCH BUSINESS, <br /> <br /> Be it'ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br /> , that sections 60 and 61 of Article Il of the License <br /> [hence of the City of Portsmouth, 1960, be amended and <br />reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 60. Cleaning, Pressing, Dyeing and <br /> Laundry - Non-Local: <br /> <br /> Every person engaged in the business of dry <br /> cleaning, pressing, dyeing or laundering who does <br /> such work outside of the City of Portsmouth shall <br /> pay a license ta~ of $425°00 per annum for each <br />~ office or place :in the City of Portsmouth used for <br /> receiving and/or delivering such work. <br /> <br />The above license cannot be prorated. <br /> <br /> No license tax shall be imposed under this <br />section upon any person operating such business <br />in an adjoining city, and having his plant in <br />such adjoining city, where such city does not <br />.impose a similar license tax upon any person <br /> operating his business in and paying a license <br /> tax to the City of Portsmouth and having his <br /> )lant in Portsmouth~ and engaged in such business <br /> both cities. <br /> <br /> The intent of this provision is to grant the <br />same reciprocal i ~' ' <br /> pr vl~eges to llcensed persons in <br />adjoining cities engaged inisUCh business, provided <br />such cities grant the same reciprocal privileges to <br />such persons licensed <br /> <br /> <br />
