Every person desiring to supervise or do work as an electrician shall make written application to the Board of Electrical Hxaminers for mn examination as to his proficiency 'and capacity to do such work, and, if upon examination the applicant shows himself competent and qualified to do electrical work in the manner required by this ordinance, the Board of ElectriczI Examiners' shall deliver to such applicant a certificate to that effect; provided, however, any- thing in this article to the contrary notwithstanding, no person ~ctually engaged in the business of being a mas:er electrician, journeyman electrician, er maintenance electrician on or before January 1, 1964, shal! be required to take an examination but shall be issued the appropriate certificate upon payment of the applicable fei required in section 9-46. Sec. 9-45. Examinations. ?ne Board of Electrical Examiners shall meet quarterly at a time to be fixed by the chairman of ~he board for the purpose of examining applicants for permission zo do business as electri~ai contractors or electrizians in ~he City. Three days notice shall be given each applicant of said meeting.
