AN O~RDINANCE TO AME~D SECTION 2-35 OF <br />CODE OW ~ CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, <br />1961~, RET.ATIN~ TO ~g~L VACATIONS FOR CITY <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that section <br />2-35 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virgiola, 1961, be amended and reordained to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-35. Annual leave. <br /> <br /> (a) There shall be granted to each <br />officer and en~ployee of the city anr~al leave <br />at the rate of one day of annual leave for <br />each continuous calendar month of employment. <br /> <br /> (b) In addition to the annual leave <br />benefits provided in subsection (a) above, each <br />officer and employee who shall have completed <br />the specified namber of calendar years of <br />continuous employment shall be entitled to <br />additional annual leave in accordance with the <br />following schedule: <br /> <br />(1) l0 years 2 days <br />(2) 15 years 3 days <br />(3) 20 years - 5 days <br /> <br /> (c) No officer or employee shall be <br />eligible to take annual leave until he shall <br />have completed one year of service. <br /> <br /> (d) Anuual leave may be taken between <br />January 1 and December 15 of each year with <br />the written approval of the department head <br />concerned, and between December 16 and 31 <br />of each year with the written approval of the <br />department head concerned and the city ~anager, <br /> <br /> <br />
