(10) "Centerlin? of the. higher, ay" means a line <br />equidistant from the edges Of the ~dian Separating the <br />=~in-traveled ways of an interstate divided .hi,away, or <br />the centerline of the main-traveled way of a nondivided <br />interstate hig~hway; <br /> <br /> (11) "Znterchange" means a grade separated <br />intersectio~ v~th one or more turning roadways for <br />travel oetween intersection legs, or an intersection <br />at grade, where two or more higj~ways Join or cross; <br /> <br /> (12) "Le~gible" memos capable of being read <br />without visual aid by a person of normal visual acumty, <br /> <br />(13) "M~intain" memas to allow to exist; <br /> <br /> (14) "M~in-traveled way" means the traveled <br />way of an interstate highway on wi~ich through traffic <br />is carried. Im the case of a divided interstate highvay, <br />the traveled way of each of the separated roadways for <br />traffic in opposite directions is a ~-traveled way. <br />It do~s not include such facilities as fronvage roads, <br />turning roadways, or parki~ areas; <br /> <br /> (15) "National System of Interstate and Defense <br />High, ways" and "Znterstate System" mean the system pre- <br />sentiy defined ~mn subsection (d) of sectio~ 10~ of T2tle <br />23, United States Code; <br /> <br /> (16) "Protected area? means all areas which are <br />adjacent to and wit~zin six htmdred sixvy feet of the edge <br />of the a~i~at of way of ars~ highway which is a part of the <br />National System of Intersva~e .mhd Defense Highways. <br /> <br /> (17) "Scer. ic area" means any public park, area <br />of particular scenic beauty or ,historical sz~oazzzcs~nce <br />designated as a scenic area by the City Mmnager. <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br /> <br />
