(c) <br /> <br />If a dog shall become six months of age <br />or come into the possession of any person <br />between October thirTy-firSt and December <br />thirty first of any year, the license tax <br />for the succeeding calendar year shall be <br />paid forthwith by the o~.mer, and such <br />license shall protect such dog from the <br />date of purchase. <br /> <br />Sec. 3-36° Pa)rment of license tax subsequent to <br /> <br />Payment of the license tax subsequent to a summons <br />to appear before a court for failure to do so within <br />the time required shall not'operate to relieve such <br />owner from the penalties provided. <br /> <br />Sec. 3-57. ~ffect of dog np~ wearing collar as <br /> evidence. <br /> <br />Any dog not wearing a collar bearing a license tag <br />of the proper calendar year shall prima facie be <br />deemed to be unlicensed and in any proceedings under <br />this ordinance ttle burden of proof of t~e fact that <br />such dog has been licensed or is otherwise not <br />required.to bear a tag at the time shall be on the <br />owner of the dog. <br /> <br />Sec. 5-38. How to obtain liccnse. <br /> <br />Any person may obtain a dog iicense by making oral <br />or written application to the City Treasurer, <br />accompanied by the amount of ti~e license tax and <br />certificate of vaccination as required by section <br />3-29. The City Treasurer shall only i~ave authority <br />to license dogs of resident owners or custodians who <br />reside within the boundary limits of the City of <br />'Portsmouth and may require information to this <br />effect from any applicant.. Upon receipt of any <br />application and certificate of vaccination, the <br /> City Treasurer shall issue a license receipt for the <br /> amount, on which he shall record the name ~nd <br /> address of the o~fner or custodian, the date.~f <br /> <br /> <br />
