AN ORDINANCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF NOTTO~AY AVENUE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS. Southland Life Insurance Company, and Williara H. Butler <br />and Thelma Butler, his wife, have made application to vacate, close and dis- <br />continue the hereinafter described street; and <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, by resolution of this Council, adopted August 24, 1965. <br />viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364 o£ the Code of Virginia, <br />t950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described street, and to report in <br />writing whether in their opinion, any, and if any, what inconvenience would <br />result from discontinuing the hereina£ter described street; and <br /> <br /> ~[fEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in their <br />opinion no inconvenience would result from closing and discontinuing said <br />street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFOgE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of Nottoway Avenue lying between the <br />northern lxne of Brighton Street and the northern property line extended of <br />Lot 24. Block 109, as sho~n on the Plat of the Virginsa Realty and Investment <br />Company, duty recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court o£ the City <br />of Chesapeake, Virginia, in Map Book 7, page 98, 99 and 100 bev and the same <br />is hereby closed and vacated as a public street. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council o£the City of Portsmouth, Virginia~at a <br />meeting held October 12~ 1965~ <br /> <br /> Teste~ <br /> <br /> city <br /> <br /> <br />
