~N ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE AND DIRECT THE. CONVEYANCE OF THE EDINBURGH <br />SQUARE, KING SQUARE ~%ND PROCTOR SQUARE PARKING LOTS TO THE PORTSMOUTH <br />PARKING AUTHORITY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Parking Authority has been authorized <br />to transact business by a resolution duly adopted by the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 14 of the Portsmouth Parking Authority Act <br />authorizes this the City of Portsmouth to tzansfer its parking facilities <br />to the said authority; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council now finds it is in the public interest <br />to transfer to the said authority the Edinburgh Square Parking Lot, the <br />King Square Parking Lot and the Proctor Square Parking Lot: <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of ihe City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Manager and the City Clerk be, and <br />they hereby are, directed and authorized to execute, seal and deliver <br />to the Portsmouth Parking Authority, without payment of consideration <br />a deed in form approved by the City Attorney, with appropriate warranties <br />of title, conveying the following described three parcels of land situate <br />in the City of Portsmouth: <br /> <br />PARCEL 1 <br /> <br /> Ail that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, with <br />the improvements thereon and the appurtenances thereunto <br />belonging, known as the Edinburgh Square Parking Lot, more <br />particularly described as follows: Beginning at the <br />northeast corner of County and Middle Streets; thence <br />north along the eastern line of Middle Street 115 feet; <br />thence east parallel to County Street 180 feet; thence <br />south parallel to Middle Street 115 feet to the northern <br />line of County Street; thence west along the northern line <br />of County Street 180 feet to the point of beginning. <br /> <br />PARCEL 2 <br /> <br /> All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land, with <br />the improvements thereon and the appurtenances thereunto <br />belonging, known as the King Square Parking Lot, more <br />particularly described as follows: Beginning ak a point <br />on the southern line of King Street 55.5 feet east of <br />the southeast corner of King and Dinwiddie Streets; <br />thence east along the southern line of King Street 184.50 <br />feet; thence south 226 feet to the northern line of <br />County Street; thence west along ~he northern line of <br /> <br /> <br />
