Section 46. Bill Posters: <br /> <br /> Every person engaging in the business of bill posting, dis- <br />tributing, tacking~or painting bulletins or painting advertising boards~ <br />shall be deemed to be bill posters under this ordinance, and shall pay <br />a license tax of $240.00, which amount shall cover all persons employed <br />or working for him. <br /> <br /> Th~ license tax shall not apply to house painting contractors <br />or other contractors who letter store, office or other doo~s and windows~ <br />or who paint for customers 'Fo Let", "For Sale", or other like portable <br />signs. <br /> <br />Section 47. Billiard, Pool or Bagatelle Tables or Shuffle Boards: <br /> <br /> Every person operating a billiard or pool room open to the <br />public, which shall employ the use of billiard, ppol or bagatelle tables, <br />or any ether tables on which games may be played requiring the use of <br />cues and balls or which shall have a shuffle board or shuffle boards' <br />not operated on a coin-in-the-slot principle, or any place other than a <br />billiard or pool room which has on its premises one or more of the above, <br />shall pay a license tax of (a) $45.00 on the first such billiard, pool <br />or bagatelle table and $2S.00 on each additional such table and {b) <br />$30.00 on the first such shuffle board and $10.00 on each additional <br />such shuffle board. Each such table or shuffle board shall be assessed <br />for licenses whether used or not. <br /> <br />Section 48. Boiler Cleaners and Ship Scalers: <br /> <br /> Eyery person engaging in the business of scaling or cleaning <br />boilers, whether on ships or otherwise, shall pay a license tax of <br /> <br />Section 49. Boats -- Towing: <br /> <br /> Every person engaged in the business of towing by boat or <br />contracting therefor, or who shall have an office in the City of Ports- <br />mouth where contracts for such towing are made, shall pay a license tax <br />of $7S.00 for each boat operated for towing purposes. ~he word "boat" <br />as used in this section shall be construed to include any boat used for <br />towing propelled by any mechanical po~er. <br /> <br />Section SO. Bondsmen-Professional: <br /> <br /> Every, person who shall, for compensation, become or furnish <br />surety for any person or persons charged with a felony or misdemeanor or <br />with violation of any city ordina~e~or ordinances or State law, shall <br />pay a license tax of ~500.00 per annuan. Such license shall net be <br />transferable or prorated. <br /> <br />- 16 - <br /> <br /> <br />
