The City Manager shall have authority to revoke this license
<br />upon conviction of violation of any law.

<br />Section 59. Amusement Parks~
<br />
<br /> :Any person operating any permanent park for public amusement
<br />in the City of Portsmouth which shall be open to the public, for the
<br />privilege of operating within such park a bowling alley, hobby:horse,
<br />merry-go-round, ferris wheel, old mill, roller coaster, pony or train
<br />rides, and other similar amusements, penny or nickel machines for ex-
<br />hibiting pictures, automatic photo mgchines, bathhouses, boathouses and
<br />parking lots, shall pay the following license tax: $1,000.00, and in ad-
<br />dition thereto, $.25 per $100.00 of the gross receipts, exclusive of any
<br />Federal and City a~mission tax thereon, from all such activities, except
<br />the gross r~ceipts from the operation of such boathouses, bathhouses, and
<br />parking lots.

<br /> When such amusement park has two or less of the above accumulated
<br />amusements, such license tax shall be as follows: $150.00, and in ad-
<br />dition.thereto, $.25 Der $100.00 of the gross receipts therefrom, exclu-
<br />sive of any Federal and City admission tax thereon.
<br />
<br /> Whenever such amusement within said park is operated by a
<br />person other than the operator of such park, such person shall pay for
<br />such amusement the following license tax: $50.00, and in addition there-
<br />to, $.25 per $100.00 of the gross receipts therefrom exclusive of any
<br />Federal and City tax thereon.
<br />
<br /> 'Any person other than the operator of such amusement park, who
<br />shall operate any amusement within said park, for which tickets are not
<br />sold, such as recording the voice, guessing one's weight or age, testing
<br />one's strength, and the like, shall pay a license tax of $50.00.
<br />
<br /> The license tax nrovided in this section shall not be prorated
<br />and the license for the operation of any such park shall not be construed
<br />to authorize the operation within such park of any hotel, dance hall,
<br />motion picture theatre, theatre, restaurant~ store, booths, or stalls
<br />that are operated on the principle of giving prizes when one may for a
<br />fee throw darts, toss rings, fish for numbers~ etc., as a method to
<br />determine the type of prize to be received by the player. Nor shall the
<br />license tax provided in this section be construed to authorize the sale
<br />of beer, wine or tobacco, or any other business or occupation for which
<br />a specific license is required by this ordinance.
<br />
<br />Section 40. Barber Shops:
<br />
<br /> Every person who shall conduct or operate a barber shop shall
<br />pay a license tax of $35.00 per year for the first chair and $5.00 per
<br />year for each additional chair, whether used or no.t.
