Be it ordained by the Coup. oil of the City of Portsuouth, Virginia: Section I: 7ne ordi~ace entitled "An OrdL~ance Lmposing and Levying a Retail Sales and Use Tax for the Fiscal Year Beginning July t, 1965, a~d Ending [~y~ 31, 1966, ~d also for Each and Every Year ~nereafter Begoi~uai~ ~.~th J~e 1 of each Such Year and Endir~g v~ith P~y 31 Follo'~'~S, Unless Othe~is~ Ch~sed by the Council; Prescribing the Ti~e '~nen the Doing of Certain Acts or ?r~s Re- ~ qumred to ~e Done Hereunder, IncludmnE the Collectmon of Suc2~ Taxes, Shall Coa~ence Providing for Certain Exceptions; Defi~ng Violations of the Provisions of ?his Ordi:~nce and Prescribi~ Penalties ~nerefor~" Or~ir~nce No. 1965-24, adopted April 27, 1965, and all ordip~ces ~aendatory thereof are hereby repealed. Section 3: %ne repeal of the ordinanc~sre~rred to in Sections 1 and 2 of this ordinance shall not be construed to~ relieve any person of any liability, requirement, obligation or duty Lmposed by suma ordinances between the first mmuent of June~ 1, 1965, and the o~ suc._ liaomlity and the performance complete and final discharge ~ ~ ..... of such require~ent, obt~ation or duty.
