Sec. 18-153. Procedure in case of violation <br /> of article. <br /> <br /> It shall be the duty of the police officers <br />of the city, acting in acco~ce with instructions <br />issued by the chief of police, to report: <br /> <br /> (a) ?ne number of each pa~king me~er which <br /> indicated that the vehicle occupying the parking <br /> space adjacent to such parking meter is or has been <br />' parked in violation of' any of tlne provisions of <br /> this ~rticte; <br /> <br />(b) ~ne state license nt~ber of such vesicle; <br /> <br /> (c) The ler~Eth of tLme duri~ which sudn <br />vehicle is parked, in violasion of any of the pro- <br />visions of this ~rticle; <br /> <br /> (d) Any other facts, a knowledge of which is <br />necessary to a thorough understandir~ of the cir- <br />¢~nstances attending such violation. <br /> <br /> Each such police officer shall attach to such <br />vehicle a notice to the~ o~a~er thereof, that such <br />vehicle has been parkea in vioiatioh of a provision <br />of this article and instructing such ~ner to <br />report to the clerk of the municipal court, traffic <br />division of the city, in regard 5o such violation. <br />Each such o~ner may, within sevensy-two hours of <br />the time when such notice was attached to su~n <br />vehicle, pay to the clerk a penalty in the s~r. of <br />one dollar for each hour, or fraction'thereof, <br />during which such ve'£aicle ocd~pied such parkir~S <br />space in violation of any of the pro¥isions of <br />this article; provided, however, that if suc~ <br />penalty is paid within one hour after the notice <br />is attached to such vehicle, then the amount of <br />the penalty shall be twenty-five cents instead of <br />one dollar.
