of his fourth, seventh and tenth year of employment, respectively, and then only <br />upon recommendation o£ his department head and approval th~ereof by the City Ma~agero <br />Upon promotion to a higher pay range, the employee will be placed in the lo~est step <br />~hich will afford him an increase in pay, and thereafter he will be advanced annually <br /> <br />to the next highest step to which he is entitled° <br /> Section 5o Demotions° <br /> <br /> Any employee who is demoted to a lower range shall receive compensation <br /> <br />according to the range in which he is placed by the City Manager° <br /> Section 5. Transfers° <br /> <br /> Any employee transferred to another class of employment in a higher pay <br />range~ shall be deemed to have been promoted and shall be entitled to compensation <br />as provided in Section 4 above, and any employee transferred to another class of <br />employment in a lower pay range, shall be deemed to have been demoted, and shall <br /> <br />be entitled to compensation as provided in Section $ above. <br /> Section 7° Reinstated Employees° <br /> <br /> Any person ~ho is reinstated within one year after he has left the <br />employment of the City shall receive compensation according to the range in which <br />he is placed by the City Manager, not to exceed, however, the rate of pay he would <br /> <br />receive had he not left the employment of the City° <br /> Section 8o Part Time Employeeso <br /> <br /> Any person employed on a part time basis shall receive compensation as <br /> <br />prescribed by the City Manager° <br /> Section 9o 0vertime~ <br /> <br /> Any employee whose rate of pay is fixed on a monthly basis shall not <br />receive any compensation for extra or overtime work, except in cases o£ emergency° <br />Any extra compensation allowed by a Department Head must be in advance of the <br />performance of the work and with the approval o£ the City Manager; the same to be <br />entered by the Department Head on the next succeeding payroll submitted to the <br />City Auditor° <br /> <br /> <br />
