The Buitdirg Official shall not i~sue a permit to da~olish or alter any such b~i]ding until the expiration of Six months fram the date on which a copy of such application was received Uy~h~m unless authorized by 'the Council. Sec. 9-27. b~uauthorized r~.~oval or d~molition of buildirg. It shall be unlawful for ar~ person, whether as ~r~r, contractor c~ otherwise, wlao knows or has reason to believe that a building is a historic b~ilding as set forth in~ this artic~le, to cause or participate in the r. amoval of an official marker or in the demo~ition~or alteration of a buildirg in violation of the provisions of this article. Sec. 9-28. Acceptance and disposition of gifts, devises, etc., toward preservation of historic b~ldfings. All persons interested in the prese.~zation of historic bdildings in the city are invited to msi~e gifts, devises and bequests to the _city to be used for that purpose.
