Advising ~%th directors of parks <br /> an~ recreation, <br /> <br /> ~ne co~mission shall advise with the ~irectors <br />of parks arid recreation on all ~atters s~omitted by <br />them or by any m~er of the co~ission for the cor~id- <br />eration of the commission. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-71.1 Powers and duties. <br /> <br /> The parks and recreatio~ co~wnission shall <br />have the follo~ngpowers and duties: <br /> <br /> (a) The commission shatl pls~ in detail the <br />ground areas designated for park~ and recreation areas <br />on the city's master park and recreation plan. ~e~ <br />any such desi~aated area includes school property, such <br />plan shall be prepared jointly with the school board; <br />any such plan involving school property shall give due <br />consideratio~ to the present and future needs of the <br />school program. The purpose of such planning shall be <br />to effect the greatest possible utilization of school <br />property in the coramu~ity recreation program. <br /> <br /> (b) ~ne commission shall develop and maintai~ <br />the areas sho~,~ on the ms,er park and recreation plan <br />according to the officially approved detailed plans. <br />Where-any such area includes school property, its de- <br />velopment and maintenance shall be accomplishedby <br />agreement between the commission and the school board. <br /> <br /> <br />
