Weiss and Bessie F, Weiss, h~sband and wire, and the Trustees of the General Electric Pension Trust, and ' - remairJ_ng abuttir~ property owners have been notified of this · preposed closure; and · ]~ WHEREAS, by r.esolution of this council, adopted March 26, . 196U, viewers were aopointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364 of the . · ' Cede of V~ginia, 1950, as av~nded, to view the hereinafter described street, and to r~nort in ~iting whether in their opir~on, any, and if a~j, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing the here- inafter described street; and WHEF~AS, the said viewers have reported in ~r~iting that in their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing and discontinuing Said street, provided an easement was reser~v-ed for the utility lines located therein. NO~, ~RE, BE IT ORDALNED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of Columbia Street from its junction ,~th Airline Boulevard and Frederick Boulevard extending eastwardly approximately 128 feet to the extension of the property line between Lots 8 and 10 Ln Block 156 be, and the same is hereby closed and vacated as a public street, reserving unto the City of Portsmouth, however~ the perDetual easement, right and orivilege to install, maintain, operate and replace utilitv lines wi~h a strio of land twenty feet in w~_'dth, lying ten feet on each side of the- center line of the street so closed and vacated.
