AN ORDINANCE A~v~DING ~ CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, <br />-1961, BY ADDING ~ER~DD A NEW SECTIO~ ~_~ER~D 2-57.8, ESTABLISH~qG <br />A ~'~ FOR PROVIDING ESCORT SERVICE, EXCEPT TO GO~JEP~_~N~AL AGF~WCIES. <br /> <br />Be mt ordamned by the Council of the City of Portsmouth~ Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That the Code of the City of Portsmomth, Virginia, 1961, be amended <br />by adding thereto a n~¢ section n~mbered 2-57.8, such new section to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 2-57.8. Fee for Escort Se~¢ice. <br /> <br /> The c~bief of police s~d the fire chief are authorized to f~nish <br />official escorts for funerals{ motorcades and vehicles transporting <br />f~ngerous substs_nces. ~aer~ ms hereby imposed a fee of $5.00 for each <br />escort ~t ~u~_~she~, but ~ charge shall be ~de to ar~ goverr~nental <br />agency for providing such s~'ice. Nothir~g contained herein shall <br />b~ construed as reqoJ_ring s~ch escort service ~o be fur~shedby the <br />c~ty. , . <br />2.
