Section 42. Barging and Lightering: <br /> <br /> Every person who sb~ll engage in the business of barging and <br />lightering, or who shall hire out barges, lighters, or vessels to do <br />this work, or have an office in the city where such contracts are <br />made, shall pay a license tax of $300.00. <br /> <br />Section 43. Baseball Alleys, Shooting ~nd Archery Galleries <br /> and Other Games: <br /> <br /> EYery person eno~aged in the business of operating a baseball <br />alley, shootin~ or archery gallery or sir~itar amusement not other~ <br />wise taxed in this ord~_nance, shall pay a license tax Of $125.00 <br />per year. <br /> <br />~nis license shall not be prorated. <br /> <br />Section 44. Beauty Parlors ~nd Hsirdressers: <br /> <br /> Even- person who s?~ll conduct or operate a beauty or ha~_~- <br />dressir~ p~rlor shall pay a license tax of $35.00 where there is <br />but one opera~or, and in addition ~herezo $5.00 for each additional <br />oparavor; provided, however, that a license issued ~nder this sec- <br />tion shall not authorize the teaching or inst~action of students Ln <br />beauty cutt~re or cosmetolo~~. <br /> <br /> Each beauty parlor ar~ hairdresser shall be permmtted uo se_l <br />$1,000.00 in toilet articles and cosmetics without payment of any other <br />license taxes imposed by this ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 45. Billboards and Billboard O~mers: <br /> <br /> Every person o%.~r~ing or operatLng 5 or m~re billboards for ad- <br />vertising by posters, painted signs, words or figures, %~%hen the thing <br />advertised is not the busir~ss of the ~ner of said billboard, or used <br />or sold and e2mployed by him in his business, s_~l! pay a license 5ax <br />of $I00.00. <br /> <br />Section 46, Bill Posters: <br /> <br /> Every person engaging in ~= <br /> ~ business of .bill posting: distri- <br />buting, tackiD~ or painting bulletins or painting advertisirg bos~rds, <br />sb~/ll be deemed 5o be bill posters u~.der this ordir~ce~ and shall <br />pay a license ts~x of ~240.00 ~.~nich ~mou~ sha_l cover al~ persons em- <br />pioyed or workf_ng for h£m. <br /> <br /> ~nis license tax sb~ll not apply to house painting conforactors <br />or other contractors ~no letter store.,, office or other doors and '~,,~_ndows, <br />or who paLnt for custo~rs FTo Let'~, ~'For Sale", or other like portable <br /> <br />-17- <br /> <br /> <br />
