Adoptiou. <br /> <br /> · Pursuant to Code of Virginia, section 27-5.1, f~ere i~ hereby adopt- <br />ed by the City Council for the purpose of prescribing regulations governi~.~g <br />conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or expl)sion, that certain <br /> %~eric~ Insurance <br /> <br />code knm~m as the Fire Prevention Code, recommended by the <br />Association being particularly the 1965 Edition thereof, an <br />save ~ except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, m <br />and the same is hereby adopted an~ incorporated as fully as <br />length herein, and from the date on which this article sba <br />the provisions thereof s~mll be controlling within the timi <br />provided, that: <br /> <br />t the ~oie thereof, <br />:dified or amended, <br />if set out at <br /> take effect, <br />:s of the city; <br /> <br /> (1) ~ere the word '?an,nicipality" is used in the Fire Prevention <br />Code, 196S Edition, hereby aaopted, it shall be held to mea~ the City of <br />Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> (2) Unless specifically provided for in other ordinances or codes <br />ea~_h and eve~- Standard and R~commended Practice set forth ~n volumes I <br />. through i0 of the Nat~ona_ ~re Codes, i969-?0 Edition thereof, published <br /> by the National Fire Protection Association, is incorporated in this article <br /> by reference as a part of the Fire Prevention Code,~1965 Edition, hereby <br /> adopted, as fully as if set out at length herein; <br /> <br /> (5) Article 13 of such Fire Prevention Code, 1965 Edition, is~ne~e-r <br />by deleted in its entirety. <br /> <br /> (4) The limits referred to in section 16.22a of the Fire Prevention <br />Code, 1965 Eclition, hereby adopted~ in .~i~. storage of flm~able li&uids in <br />cutside aboveground t~<s is prohibited, shall be these areas which ~m time <br />to flume are specifiexi for such purpose by- ordinance, or which are classified <br />as beLng ~n the Industrial M-l, Co~ercial C-2 and Co.~erciat C-3 Districts <br /> <br /> <br />
