AN ORD~_a_NCE ~O CLOSE CERTAIN STREETS LCCATED UPON T~E HODGES ?J~iOR SCHOOL SITE. W~RE~, the School Bos~d of the City of Portsmouth, ~'irgfania, has made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described portions of i'~n, First, Second~ Pine and ~,~ple Streets in Hedges ?.~nor; and ~g~REAS, by resolution of this Council~ adopted June 10, 19~9, viewers were appointed pursuant to Seetio~ 15.1-364 of the Code of Vir- ginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described portions of the said streets ar~ to repor~ in ~a~itir~ whether in their opinion, any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from discontinuing the below described streets; and W~REAS, the said ~iewers have reported in vaulting that in their opir~on no inconvenience would resu]t from closing and discontinuir~ said streets; NOW, ~r~J(~ORE, BE tT 0RDAI2~ED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that: Main Street from Old ~herokee Road to First Street; s_nd F~st Street frmm the western te_wminus bordering prope_~0y of the Ch~ch of Jesus C,hrist Latter Day Saints ye the western boundary of E]~mhurst Lmae extended; also from the easte~ botuuda~y of ELm.~hu~rst Lane extended to the inte~- section of ~'~i~ and First Streets; and Second Street from the eastern boundary of the property line of M~nor View Corporation to the western boundary of property o~.aned by the City of Portsmouth; ~]d Pine Street from the proposed Elmhurst Lmne extended to Second Street; and 5. I.~aple Street from First Street to Second Street; be,. and the same are hereby closed and vacated as public streets.
