~N ORDI2~NCE TO A~n~ T~ ZONI2~G 0RDIN~hWCE OF THE <br />CITY OF P0~PSMO~J~f~H, 1961, BY ~%~DING SECTION 5-8 <br />THEP~EOF, PROVIDING D]2~SIONAL Z~EQUIR~!~S FOR <br />T~ CONSTRUCTION OF ROW HOUSES IN THE RESID~k~IAL <br />R-60 ~D R-60-A DISaffeCTS. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />that the Zo~olng Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, be amended by <br />amending Section 5-8 thereof, such amended section to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 5-8. Residential R-60 and Residential R-60-A District <br /> Dimensional Requiraments. <br /> <br /> Within the Residential R-60 ~ Residential R-60-A Districts as <br />shown on the Zaning ~hp, all the following dimensional requiremsnts shall <br />be complied v~ith: <br /> <br /> (a) ~nimum required plot area for dwellLng types other than <br />r~' houses .......... 6,000 square feet. <br /> <br /> (b) ~.ii'nmmumrequired plot area for row houses only ........... <br />2,000 square feet; except that as an alternate ~mthod of develo~mnt~ a <br />subdivision of row houses may be approved ~thout a mi~_L~&m plot size re- <br />qufremmnt, provided that the m~xim~m number of olots per acre shall not <br />exceed 20 plots per gross acre and all other ~Lmensional requirements <br />set forth by this section '~£nich are applicgo!e to row houses are followed. <br />"Gross acre" shall not Lnclude any public street ri~at of way properly <br />dedicated and accepted for m~inten~nce by the City. <br /> <br /> (c) Mir~im~m required plot width for r~ houses only: for interior <br />plots .......... 20 faet;for end plots .......... 25 feet. <br /> <br /> (d) Max~_r~mm allowable floor area devoted to residential purposes <br />for structures other thmu row houses in the Residential R-60 and R-60-A <br />Districts shall be one-half of the plot s_~ea; provided, however, tb~t in <br />the Residential R-60 mud R-60-~ Districts~ upon approval of the P!s_~mfL~ <br />Cmumission after sub~ission of site plan and general characteristics of <br />the b~ld~ng, the ms_xL~m allowable floor e_~ea devoted to residential our- <br />poses for a buildLng exceed~_ng three stories ~oove the ground level iu <br />which elevators are pr~¢ided shall be equal to the plot area. <br /> <br /> (e) M~mim~n requLred buil ~di~ setback line. Every building in <br />the Residential R-60 arm the Residential R-60-A Districts shall be set back at <br />least 50 feet frmm the center 1Lne of the street upon which the plot fronts <br />amd 40 feet from the cenver 1Lne of s~ny adjoL~imE side street~ except that <br />every build~--ng adjacen~ to a street ~g~ich has a b~it ~dir~g setback ILne pres- <br />cribed in the City Cede shall be set bacL~ in accordance there~,~th. <br /> <br /> <br />
