ORDINANCE NO. 1970-91 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF WEST ROAD <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Maryview Hospital has made application to close <br />and vacate that hereinafter described portion of West Road; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, By resolution of this Council adopted April 28, <br /> 1970, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1'364 of the <br /> Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described <br /> portion of said street and to report in writing whether in their <br /> opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would result from the <br /> discontinuing of the below described street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writin that in <br />their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing and discon- <br />tinuing said street; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT 0RDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of West Road more particu- <br />larly described as follows: <br /> <br /> All that certain lot, piece or parcel of <br /> land situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br /> and more particularly described as follows: Be- <br /> ginning at a point at the Northeast intersection <br /> of High, Street and West Road; thence running north- <br /> erly along the Eastern right of way of said West <br /> Road North 22° 10' East a distance of 387.54 feet <br /> to a point; thence continuing along said Eastern <br /> right of way along the arc of a curve to the left <br /> whose radius is 323.26 feet a distance of 80.55 <br /> feet to a point; thence running North 82 <br /> feet a distance of 80.00 feet, more or less, to a <br /> point; thence running along the Western right of <br /> way of said West Road along the arc of a curve to <br /> the right whose radius is. 243.26 feet a distance <br /> of 60.62 feet to a point; thence continuing along <br /> said Western right of way of West Road South 22° <br /> I0' West a distance of B57,20 feet to a point; <br /> thence running along the Northern right of way of <br /> High Street South 47 degrees 04' East a distance of 85.56 <br /> feet to the point of beginning; <br /> <br />be, and the same is hereby closed and vacated as a public street. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />a meeting held September 29, 1970. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br />Virginia, <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
