Ot lh AHCE HO. <br /> <br />AN ORDINAlqCE TO AMEND SECTION 2-6 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF PORTS~{OUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, PERTAINING TO MEETINGS OF <br />THE CITY COUNCIL. <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 2-6 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1961, be amended and reordained to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-6. <br /> <br />When regular council meetings held; who may <br />call special meeting. <br /> <br /> (a) There shall be regular meetings of the Council, <br />unless otherwise provided by special resolution, beginning at <br />7:30 P.M., on the second and fourth Tuesday in each month ex- <br />cept in the month of Dece~er when the regular meetings shall <br />be on the first and third Tuesdays. <br /> <br /> There shall be regular meetings of the Councils un- <br />less otherwise provided by special resolution, beginning at <br />7:30 P.M., on the Monday preceding the second Tuesday in the <br />months of February, April, June, August and October and on <br />the Monday preceding the first Tuesday in Dece~er; any public <br />hearing which the Council is required to hold under Chapter 11 <br />of Title 15.1 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, shall be held at <br />the meetings specified in this paragraphs but nothing herein <br />shall be construed as prohibiting the continuation of any such <br />public hearing to any other time or place. <br /> <br /> (b) The mayor, or any three members of the Council, <br />may call a special meeting~ <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held JuneS, 1971. <br /> <br />Teste:- <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
